General Questions
What is FactExtract?
FactExtract is an AI-powered document processing service designed for legal professionals. It reads your PDF documents, extracts text using advanced OCR, and generates structured summaries with key facts, dates, and findings.
What types of documents work best?
FactExtract works with any PDF document, but is especially effective for:
- Discovery productions and document sets
- Medical records and healthcare documentation
- Employment files and personnel records
- Contracts and legal agreements
- Correspondence and communications
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your documents are encrypted during upload and processing. Source files are automatically deleted after processing completes. Results are retained for 14 days and then permanently deleted. We never share your data with third parties.
Uploading Documents
What is "Auto-Divide"?
Auto-Divide uses AI to detect when one PDF contains multiple separate documents (common in discovery productions). When enabled, FactExtract will identify document boundaries and summarize each document individually.
When to use it: Enable for document productions, compiled records, or any PDF that contains multiple distinct documents.
When to disable: Turn off for single documents like individual contracts or reports.
What file formats are supported?
Currently, FactExtract only supports PDF files. Maximum file size is 50MB per file. You can upload multiple files at once.
What is an Extraction Structure?
An Extraction Structure defines what information to extract from your documents. Each structure contains a list of fields (like "Date", "Author", "Summary") that the AI will try to identify and extract.
You can use the built-in "General Summary" structure, or create custom structures tailored to your specific document types.

You'll see an exact cost estimate before submitting any job.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire. Use them whenever you need them.
Can I get a refund?
